1.Great Wall of China Location : China Built : 7th Century BC to the 16th Century Length : Approximately 21,196 km (13,171 miles ) Purpose : Built to protect Chinese states from invasions by nomadic tribes. Materials : Stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials. Significance : An extraordinary engineering marvel symbolizing China's strength and unity.
