Definition of Tenses: Tenses are used to indicate the time of an action or event. They show when something happens (in the past, present, or future) and the state of the action. In English, tenses are divided into three main types, each having different forms based on the time and aspect of the action. The three main types of tenses are: 1. Present Tense 2. Past Tense 3. Future Tense 1. Present Tense: Describes actions or events that are happening now, are habitual, or are general truths. 2.
