Why water is know as universal solvent ?

Water is known as the "universal solvent" because it can dissolve a wide variety of substances.

1. This is due to its polar molecular structure, which allows water molecules to surround and separate ions and other polar molecules. 

2.The positive and negative ends of water molecules attract and interact with the charged parts of other substances, breaking them down into their component ions or molecules.

3. This ability makes water essential for many biological and chemical processes, where it acts as a medium for reactions and transport of nutrients and waste.
